What does it mean to be a member at SCC?

Membership at SCC is not based on money, position in life, or your education but solely on your relationship to Jesus Christ. All people who profess Jesus as their Savior and are immersed into Jesus are members of His Church. SCC is a church focused on adding members to our Lord’s Church. We believe the following steps, as based on the Bible, will lead you into Jesus Christ; and by staying faithful to Jesus Christ give you security today and for all eternity.

Step 1 Hear the Word of God

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17

Step 2 Believe or have Faith in God to save you from your sin

For the wages of sin is death,

but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists

and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

Step 3 Repent or turn away from your sinful habits/behaviors

“Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38

Step 4 Confess or State that Jesus Christ is Lord of your life

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”

and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9

Step 5 Be immersed into Jesus Christ (under water)

Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death.

Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father,

so we too might walk in newness of life.

For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,

knowing this that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away with,

that we should no longer be slaves to sin;

Romans 6:3-6

Step 6 Live the Christian Life

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;

to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians 2:22-24
